Chrysler: Engineered beautifully.

The first Chrysler was introduced before the company of the same name even existed. Founding father Walter P. Chrysler worked for various US car manufacturers until he presented his first own vehicle, the Chrysler Six, in 1924. More than 30,000 units of this model were sold in the same year.

Chrysler advances technical development

In 1925, the Chrysler Motor Corporation was founded. With the acquisition of Dodge Brothers Inc, a company four times the size of Chrysler itself, the corporation soon became the third largest car manufacturer in the USA and the brand quickly made a name for itself outside the automotive industry. In 1930, their headquarters, the famous Chrysler Building, was completed and was the tallest building in the world at a whopping 319 metres - at least for a year - before being surpassed by the Empire State Building by a full 63 metres.

Over the years, Chrysler had advanced several technical developments. For example, the company developed the first production vehicle in a wind tunnel, presented the first electric convertible top and built the first vehicle with power steering in series production.
